Preserving the ancient Warrior Traditions of our teachers, among a fellowship of commited and supportive students who push one another to discover unlived potential and new found stregths.
We teach Martial Arts, as they were meant to be taught.
The Jinenkan Shinken Dojo is a school of Traditional Japanese Martial Arts, preserving the traditions of our teacher, Manaka Unsui.
Our classes are open to students of all ages and skill levels who wish to learn Japanese Jujutsu, Sword and Classical Weaponry.
There are two ways to join our Dojo and share in the traditions we train. A student can join in training at our Dojo, or they can participate online during each class. Regardless of how a student attends training, each are considered community members of our Dojo and thus treated the same.
At the Jinenkan Shinken Dojo the art we study is called Jissen Kobudo, meaning the realistic fighting methods of traditional martial arts.
Collectively, the art is broken into four categories of training.
• Unarmed Fighting (Taijutsu)
• Japanese Sword (Kenjutsu)
• Classical Weaponry (Bukijutsu)
• Meditation Practice (Meiso)
Get updates on our training and events every Monday afternoon.
Literally translated, Jinenkan means "Hall of Nature" and represents Unsui Sensei's feeling of his martial arts being like the natural flow of the elements. Just as the wind can pass around any obstacle and leave no trace, or alternately can destroy anything in its path.
